Belzona, The Easy Way To Seal Silos

Application Situation:

Two 17 metre high, 6 metre diameter silos for storage of Lime and Chalk

 
 

Problem:

Corrosion and mechanical damage had opened up the bolted joints allowing rain water to wash dirt through the joints leading to contamination of the lime and chalk stored in the silos.

Belzona 3111 (Flexible Membrane System)

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet RPA-1. After preparing substrate with grinders, Belzona® 3921 (GSC Conditioner) was applied before completing the application with two coats Belzona® 3111.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

Belzona repairs have proven to be 100% succefssful and were completed at a fraction the cost of a new silo (£130K).
