Belzona® Keeps Ice Cream Flowing

General Industry (GIND)

Gaskets, Seals and Shims (GSS)

Customer Location:

Dairy for local Supermarket Chain in Missouri

Application Date:

August 1995

Application Situation:

Several ice cream pumps

Worn gaskets

Belzona® 2221 (MP Fluid Elastomer)

Stainless steel

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How Leaflet GSS-1.

Belzona Facts:

The manufacturer of the plates would not supply the gaskets separately. The gaskets could only be obtained by purchasing new plates at a cost of $400 each. The dairy had eight plates (worth over $3,200) out of service, requiring gaskets immediately, plus eight more in service that would soon require new gaskets. By using Belzona, the customer saved several thousand dollars in replacement parts and kept the ice cream flowing.
