Belzona Lobe Repairs Avoid Delays

Application Situation:

Rotary lobe pumps used in waste water treatment plant. The lobes have a diameter of 70 cm and a thickness of 13 cm.

Problem:

the rubber lobes wear but there is a delay of 4-6 weeks for the delivery of these lobes.

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet PDP-9. A mould, lined with Belzona® 1341 was created from new lobes and used to cast replica lobes using Belzona® 2131 around the steel centres which are grit blasted to achieve maximum adhesion. 

Belzona Facts:

Many lobes have been produced using this process. This method is not cheaper but it reduces stock and saves a lot of production time by avoiding supply delays.
