Problem: The two bund areas needed complete refurbishment. Over the years acid and caustic residues had attacked the bunds and left them both badly deteriorated. The client wanted the area cleaned and protected with a material that would resist further attack.

Application Situation
Basic Oxygen Steelmaking (BOS) Demin water plant. Two bunds for regeneration chemicals - 96% sulphuric acid and 46% Sodium hydroxide.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-15. A 25mm fillet of Belzona® 4131 was installed on internal angles before applying the Belzona® 4311 system.

The client chose Belzona due to the performance the materials offered and its ability to be applied to complex geometry as there were many fittings and platforms in the area.  The client was delighted with the short time taken to complete the work and the final finish.
