Belzona Facts
The defect was sealed using a Belzona® SuperWrap patch and the repair was continued vertically along the entire length of the weld as a precaution. Belzona's compliant, engineered repair enabled the client to eliminate the need for hot work on the tank, which was a safety concern. This approach also minimized the time the tank was out of service. The tank was repaired, inspected, and ready for service within three days. Furthermore, the tank was back to full height of product three weeks later with successful results. The Belzona repair is compliant to ISO/TS 24817, DOT Title 49, Chapter 1, Part 192, and ASME PCC-2 Article 4.1 standards and as such provides a permanent, reinforced, composite repair to the tank.
