Belzona® Restores Four Condenser Tube Sheets In Five Days

Application Situation:

Condenser tube sheets of 350 MW generator - each contains 6, 453 tubes.



Insertion of new stainless steel sleeves caused ligament damage to the inlet tube sheets resulting in severe tube to tube sheet leaks and a forced outage.



Belzona® 1121 (Super XL-Metal)

Belzona® 1341 (Supermetalglide)



Bronze tube sheets, copper tubes, stainless steel inserts.


Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet HEX-1. The entire application of all four tube sheets, including blasting, occurred within five days with a crew of approximately 28 men.


Belzona Facts:

Shutdown of the #4 generator resulted in revenue losses of over $140,000 per day. Not only did the Belzona crew cut the down time by 75%, the final application has resulted in the highest efficiency the unit has recorded in its entire operating history.
