Application Situation:

Cyclone used to dewater drilling mud produced by tunnel boring machine.

Problem:

Severe abrasion due to the wet mud. The original bonded rubber lining usually used is difficult to repair insitu due to the complex surface geometry.

The application is carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SHM-13. 

Belzona Facts:

The Belzona solution allowed repairs to be done insitu minimizing delays to the tunnel boring process. The Belzona® 1812 was easily applied and formed to the complex shape of the centrifuge. No further repairs were required after 2 years in service (2003)
