Application Situation:

Scale beams of the refinery truck scale, originally installed in the 1970s.



Concrete severely eroded. Exit end of concrete beam damaged by the impact of the scale bumping into the end of the scale sump wall.

Belzona® 4111 (Magma-Quartz)



Pre-stressed concrete and angle iron


Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How Leaflet FPA-5.


Belzona Facts:

The Belzona system was chosen for its high adhesion, compressive strength, impact resistance and chemical resistance to hot asphalt oil which is occasionally spilled on the surface of the scale.


Photographs Description

  1. Piece of 4 x 41/4 inch angle iron is prepared to be bonded into place.  
  2. Substrate conditioned with Belzona® 4911 (Magma TX Conditioner). 
  3. Angle iron strongly bonded into place with Belzona® 4111(Magma- Quartz).
