Belzona Seals Leaking Flange

Large flange in hot brine process system

Problem:

Flanged joint was leaking at the gasket and through the bolts. Customer required an in-situ repair to seal the leak as joint could not be dismantled to effect a conventional repair.

Application Method:

Application was carried out using a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet VPF-11. The surface was prepared by grit blasting. The bolts were fully encapsulated using Belzona® 1111 to seal the leaks in these areas. Following this Belzona® 1391 incorporating Reinforcement tape was used to completely encapsulate the flange joint.

Belzona Facts:

The Belzona products were chosen to withstand the high process temperatures (120°C) and have proven to be totally effective leading to several aimilar repairs at the facility.
