Application Situation:

Smooth concrete fire escape stairway



The concrete steps had worn and the current safety grip system had become almost none existent due to heavy foot traffic and weathering. A member of staff had slipped down the steps and injured themselves so solution to this seious slip hazard required.



Belzona® 4411 (Granogrip)





Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet FPA-8. Belzona® 4411 in grey was applied to the steps with Belzona® 9221 (Surefoot White Aggregate) incorporated into the main step areas and Belzona 9231 (Surefoot Aggregate) incorporated into the coating on the nosings.


Belzona Facts:

The client was looking for a quick solution to overcome this safety issue and selected the Belzona solution as Belzona system offered not only a quick but also long term solution. The application was completed within 3 weeks with minimal disruption to employees and is now providing a safe well gripped fire escape.
