Application was carried out in accordance with modified version of the Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SHM-7. Belzona® 4111 was applied around connecting bolts on the front wall and the shell. Belzona® 1812 was used to restore profiles lost through severe erosion. Belzona® 1121 was used for smoothing the areas with small pitting and erosion damages. These applications were carried out before re-fitting the wear resistant tile lining.
Belzona Facts
Based on the previously performed successful repair in 2008 to a similar ball mill shell  the customer required to use again Belzona products to restore the whole profile of the front wall and shell body before installation of the new protective tiles. The alternative conventional welding or metal sprey methods were rejected as being too expensive and incapable of providing the longevity required. Belzona solution was considered to be reliable and the optimum time and money saving approach.
