Extensive erosion/corrosion to the strainer wheel assembly which is in salt water service



Belzona® 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal)

Belzona® 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal)

Belzona® 1341 (Supermetalglide)

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How Leaflets SOS-1 and SOS-2.


Belzona Facts:

Belzona® 1341 (Supermetalglide) was used to hold the blast, and formers were used to rebuild the vanes. The entire wheel was rebuilt with Belzona® 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) and overcoated with Belzona® 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal). The application saved the operation of the plant since a replacement wheel was no longer available.
