Repair And Protection Of Foundry Sand Mixers With Belzona®

Application Situation:

A foundry with a specialisation in sand casting. The application was to a mixer for the sand used to create the moulds.

 
 

Problem:

Severe wear on the bottom as well as the lower part of the inside walls/sides where the mixer arm passes and scrape along the sides.

 
 

Products:

Belzona® 1812 (Ceramic Carbide)

 

Substrate:

Steel

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet SHM-13. Belzona 1812 was used to repair and protect the exposed surfaces. The rotating mixer arm was used to make sure the bottom and the lower parts of the sides in the mixer were even and correct clearances achieved. 

 
 

Belzona Facts:

This job can be considered as a sequel to similar applications successfully done in the USA, with the same Belzona product and technique.
