| Belzona® 3211 (Lagseal) Prevents Future Under Insulation Corrosion | | | | Industry:General Industry (GIND) | | | | Application:Tanks and Chemical Containment Areas (TCC) | | | | Customer Location:Cement manufaturer - Tunisia | | | | Application Date:February 2004 | | | | Application Situation:Electro-static precipitators | | | | Problem:The Electrostatic precipitators at this large cement manufacturer operate at 70kv and 200°C (392°F). As a consequence they are insulated to conserve heat energy. As usual the insulation is protected by the use of jointed steelsheeting which does not prevent moisture from penetrating the insulation layer. The result is under insulation corrosion made worse by the fact that the site is coastal and the atmosphere is salt-laden. | | | | Products:Belzona® 3211 (Lagseal) | | | | Substrate:Steel | | | | Application Method:The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-4. | | | | Belzona Facts:The insulation cladding is completely sealed with the Belzona® 3211(Lagseal) System. The entire surface except over the pressure relief valves of two of the four precipitators were protected and sealed with Belzona in six days. Each precipitator was nearly 300 square meters in size. | | | | Photographs Description
