Application Situation:

The original Belzona expansion joints had been in service for 5 years.



Over a period of time the exposed surface of the Belzona Elastomer oxidizes allowing it to slowly erode with the water movement.



Belzona® 2211 (MP Hi-Build Elastomer)

Belzona® 2221 (MP Fluid Elastomer)

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet FPA-6.


Belzona Facts:

Belzona Elastomers have a long successful history providing long term repair and maintenance solutions in municipal type swimming pools. The Belzona system is easily maintained to provide long term water containment.

  1. Some of the Belzona expansion joints after 5 years of service had eroded to below the level of the pool tiles and needed to be “topped up” 
  2. The old joints were cleaned with a wire wheel to remove all oxidation before being Conditioned
  3. Joints refurbished with Belzona® 2221
