Problem: Upon customer inspection they found the pipe near the flange area becoming thin-wall and they also had concerns about corrosion on the flange. This is the natural gas line to the plant and they could not go down for the repair without the plant going down also.

Application Situation

Application Method
Unit was blasted using sponge media for non-spark preparation. Belzona 5811 was then applied to protect against CUI, then a resin wrap was applied to give strength back to the line. A top coat of Belzona 5111 was applied for further protection.

Alternative methods of repair meant the customer would have to take the line down, which would have resulted in downtime that the customer could not afford.
