Problem: The port authority had coated the docks impoundment pumps with Belzona 1341 six years ago and had taken the pump from service for routine maintenance.

Application Situation

The port which is located in the South West of England on the Severn Estuary has the second largest tidal range in the world, 14.5 metres and suffers high levels of silt.

Application Method

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Systems Leaflet CEP-10. The existing Belzona 1341 showed very little wear and small amount of build-up was cleaned by pressure washing before completing the surface preparation and re-coating with Belzona 1341.

Due to the harsh environment in which the pumps operate, the Client has made the coating of all the pumps with Belzona 1341 standard due to both the increase in efficiency and the extension of pump life provided.
