Problem: Heavy corrosion and deterioration of the floating tank roof due to sea spray and UV attack. Failure of previous coatings had led the customer to desire a more resilient product capable of withstanding the sea spray as well as long term UV exposure. The product had also to be easy to clean following build up of dirt on previously applied systems.

Application Situation
Storage tank farm at a petrochemical refinery situated close to the coastline.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with a modified Belzona System Leaflet TCC-5. Following thorough preparation by grit blasting, application was carried out in accordance with the Belzona 6111 and 5111 Instructions For Use.
Belzona Facts
The Belzona system was quickly applied during a narrow shutdown period using spray application methods. Two coats of Belzona 6111 were applied before finishing with two coats of Belzona 5111. The customer was very satisfied with the finished application.
