Application Situation
The vessel had previously been patch repaired with Belzona 1591 HT Ceramic during shutdowns and was now slated for a complete refurbishment.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-01. The surface of the vessel was blasted to a 3-4mil profile using aluminum oxide blasting grit. The pitted areas of the vessel were rebuilt with Belzona 1511, a high temperature rebuilding compound specifically formulated for these types of applications. The rebuilt areas were brush blasted prior to over coating. After strip coating all internal weld areas and outer edges, complete vessel and man cover were protected with Belzona 1521.

Protecting the inside of the tank with Belzona 1521 will extend the vessels' useable life.
