Currently working on an Aston Martin DB6 engine block | | | Problem:The engine block had a hairline crack and was badly pitted around the cylinder liners. Due to the location of the crack, it was difficult to reach to weld effectively and the pitting needed to be eradicated. | | | Products:Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) Belzona 1392 (Ceramic HT2) | | | Substrate:Cast Aluminium | | | Application Method:Application was carried in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets ENC-1 and ENC-6. | | | Belzona Facts:The customer chose to use the Belzona method as it offered a reliable repair, future protection against erosion and corrosion as well as improved efficiency for the engine. The previous method of welding had been taking up to 2 weeks and there was a risk of causing further damage to the block through the welding process.
