Customer Location:

Power Station, Glasgow, UK

Application Date:

Belzona 1291 (ES-Metal)

Belzona 1161 (Super UW-Metal)

Belzona 5831 (ST-Barrier)

Mild steel

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets VPF-8 & VPF-11. The leaks were first stemmed using Belzona 1291. Pre blasted plates were then bonded into place around the struts, the purpose of these plates was to both seal the leaks and to give the structure back some strength so the cracks in the steel would not propagate. Belzona 5831 was applied to give overall corrosion protection to the repaired areas.

Belzona Facts:

Replacement of the bushing would have been highly time-consuming as well as extremely costly, running into tens of thousands of pounds. The Belzona method was carried out from an access tower over the course of two days, saving the client time and money.
