Application Situation:

Marine exhaust system for luxury yacht. Components to be protected were pipe sections 125mm in diameter with lengths varying between 1.9 meters and 6 meters

Problem:

Following service, severe corrosion was detected particularly at welded joints in the exhaust system. New sections required an internal lining to provide long term corrosion protection.

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet VPF-2. Belzona 1381 was applied using a single airless spray pump and internal pipe lining equipment. The ends and flange faces were hand finished using Belzona 1391T.

Belzona Facts:

Applied by spray equipment, the pipes were lined in a matter of days and ready to be returned to the customer. Use of 1391T to finish the ends ensured that the entire exposed metal surface was protected, eliminating the chance of future corrosion.
