Belzona® Adds Life To Ash Lines

Pipes carrying coal ash

 
 

Problem:

The pipes had worn thin through constant abrasion from the ash. Although not leaking, plant needed to extend life of the pipes before they failed.

Belzona® 1811 (Ceramic Carbide)

 

Substrate:

Steel

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SHM-8. Metal patches were bonded in places where pipes were known to have worn thin.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

Welding had been used on small leaks but Belzona® 1811 had proven more effective both in time for application and overall abrasion resistance. Clients confidence from previous applications with Belzona® 1811 led to it being used on these pipes.
