Problem: The kitchen floor tiles were undermined by water, penetrating the grout and loosening the tile adhesive causing them to lift and break. This created a Health and Safety issue.

Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet FPA-1. To prepare the area, the broken tiles were removed down to the concrete and cleared of any loose material or contamination and abraded to expose the aggregate. Concrete was treated with a layer of Belzona 4191 pior to the Belzona 4131 application. Belzona 4131 was applied to the area initially spreading to a general level using normal screeding technique and then smoothing off using a steel float in accordance with Belzona Instructions For Use.

Belzona 4131 once fully cured will provide excellent protection from the effects of pedestrian traffic and chemicals used in the cleaning process. The system is optimised for rapid cure and accepts pedestrian traffic in as little as 1 hour, a requirement of the application as the kitchen could only be closed for a maximum of 10 hours a day.
