Belzona® Protects Electrolyte Recirculation Tanks

Application Situation:

Copper sulfate (electrolyte) storage tanks experiencing leakage due to sulfuric acid attack at 120 °F.

 
 

Problem:

Electrolysis combined with chemical attack and metal fatigue were causing leaking at the weld seams of the tanks.

 
 

Products:

Belzona 4341 (Magma CR4)

 

Substrate:

Stainless Steel

 
 

Application Method:

The application has been completed in two tanks in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-3. The first one was carried out with paint brushes & rollers, and the second one was installed with spray application.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The tanks had been experiencing leakage for years with the subsequent loss of product/copper sulfate as well as the extreme damages which were taking place on the concrete containment area surrounding the tanks.
