Belzona® Restores Damaged Clutch On Dredger

Application Situation:

Dredger pumping gravel and water from the bottom of the lake

 
 

Problem:

Rubberized clutch suffered damage during operation of the engine. The holes became deformed and the clutch was no longer performing as needed.

 
 

Products:

Belzona 2211 (MP Hi-Build Elastomer)

 

Substrate:

Rubberized steel

 
 

Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona System Leaflet SHM-9. Metal plates treated with Belzona 9411 (Release Agent) were used to form the Belzona Elastomer. Damaged holes were reformed with Belzona Elastomer before being re-drilled in new locations.

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The customer needed a quick repair because it takes a long time to obtain a new clutch that would exactly fit to the required position. The repair was performed on site. The cost of this repair was minimal in comparison to purchase and shipment price of a new clutch, especially considering the time saved.

 
 

Photographs Description

  2. Metal plates treated with Belzona 9411 and fastened to seal one side of every hole
  3. Filling previously prepared and conditoned holes with Belzona 2211
