Application Situation
Structural steel on a section of a Valmet paper machine press.
Application Method
Hand tools, such as needle guns and grinders, were used for surface preparation before smoothing with Belzona 1121 and overcoating with Belzona 5811. The application was carried out with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-5.
Belzona Facts
Paper machine rolls are scheduled for infrequent removal during scheduled and planned maintenance outages. It was difficult to access the interior sections of the paper machine with rolls in place. The machine was shut down for 1 week in the summer time and the rolls were removed. The customer has previously used Belzona for other repairs and was impressed with the applicators and product.
