Problem: The equipment presented minor wear due to localized corrosion on the casing. It was necessary to restore the worn areas and apply a lining with excellent corrosion and high temperature resistance. The fluid consists of a caustic soda solution with few solids at a temperature of 81° C. Speed rotation: 1789 rpm.

Application Situation
Pump case.
Application Method
The repair and coating were carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets CEP -3 & CEP-5. The surface was prepared by dry abrasive blasting at near white metal. After the surface preparation, Belzona 1311 was applied to rebuild the casing and Belzona 1111 was applied on the ring seating. After that, a single coat of Belzona 1391 was applied with a 600 to750 µm thickness on the entire internal surface of the casing.

Belzona offered efficient repair and coating to pumps without the risk of distortion. Belzona 1391 offered excellent protection operating at 81°C.
