Belzona® Protects Spray Caster Fan

Power (POWR)

Fans, Blowers and Compressors (FBC)

Customer Location:

Steel Mill, South Carolina

Application Date:

July 2011

Application Situation:

Spray caster chamber fan discharges particles, dust and heat from the mill located down from the blast furnaces. Heat and abrasion are critical factors. Fans are exposed to small parts of bromide and bleach, less than 24ppm.

Pitting, erosion, corrosion, delaminatioin and accumulation of dirt from the humidity prematurely degrades the life expectancy of the fan blades. Additionally, cleaning and balancing are difficult due to dust penetration and clinging to the blades.
