Problem: Conveyor system had to be ready for use the following Saturday to unload a ship. Coal conveyor belt caught on roller and "burned" the belt. The terminal could not wait for a vulcanized repair so Belzona was contacted to see if problem could be remediated using Belzona 2000 Series polymers.

Application Situation
2' x 2' sq area was heavily damaged by the belt catching on roller. 
Application Method
Belt was prepared using grinder and roughing brush. Belzona 2911 applied and dried to touch. Belzona 2111 applied to surface. Reinforcement sheet impregnated with Belzona 2121 and placed across repair area. Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SHM-1.
Belzona Facts
Customer could not wait for splitting and vulcanizing belt. Belt was over water and getting equipment to site was going to be a challenge. Demurrage was $2,000/day for each day it could not be unloaded. After one (1) year in service no problems with repair and belt is still in use. Customer has made one (1) other repair on another belt since this repair. They did the second one themselves.
