Problem: The tapered final drive shaft keyway was worn oversize and the shaft was worn down.

Application Situation
Bull dozer final drive shaft.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet MPT-4. The keyway and tapered shaft was ground to roughen the surface. Belzona 9411 was applied to the new key and the new hub. Belzona 1111 was applied and the hub was mounted in place to center the key. The excess of Belzona 1111 was removed. After the cure, the machine was reassembled.

Replacing the shaft would require complete disassembly. A new shaft was not available.
