Problem: Pump casing, impeller and end plates damaged by erosion and corrosion as a result of  handling medium contaminating the water seal, leading to a rapid loss in efficiency.

Application Situation
Liquid ring vacuum pump.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets PDP-5 and PDP-6. The profiles were restored with Belzona 1311 before coating with Belzona 1321 to provide overall erosion-corrosion protection.
Belzona Facts
Belzona was the first choice for the customer as a similar repair was completed by Belzona in 2000, which remained in a perfect condition following an inspection after 5 years in-service time with only insignificant colour change of the Belzona material. The client was impressed by the speedy application and long term performance of the equipment with no maintenance work required as a result of excellent protection provided by Belzona materials.
