Damaged Loading Bay Stays Strong With Belzona

General Industry (GIND)

Floor Problem Areas (FPA)

Customer Location:

Industrial gas supplier, UK

Application Date:

March 2012

Application Situation:

Concrete loading area for gas cylinders.

The surface of the concrete ramp had become damaged due to impact from the gas cylinders when being loaded and unloaded, even though they are dropped onto a rubber mat. The uneven surface was making it increasingly difficult for the tall narrow cylinders to stand up safely.

Belzona 4131 (Magma-Screed)

Application Method:

The application was completed in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet FPA-1. The concrete ramp was pressure washed to remove surface contamination before the Belzona 4131 system was applied to the ramp.

Belzona Facts:

This is a common problem on many gas distribution sites across the UK. Belzona was selected firstly for its ability to protect against impact and abrasion. Secondly for being impermeable and resistant to frost damage. The loading area has been revisited almost 3 years later and after almost 3 years of constant loading and unloading of gas cylinders the application area is still in excellent condition.
