Belzona High Temperature Lining For New Autoclave

Application Situation:

New carbon steel autoclave required corrosion protection.

 
 

Problem:

Operating conditions of the new autoclave will be immersion temperatures up to 110°C (230°F) and corrosive media including ethanol, methyl methacrylate and ETMA.

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-5. After grit blasting to SA 2.5 a two-coat system of Belzona 1593 was hand applied to an area of 45m² (484 ft²).

 
 

Belzona Facts:

The Belzona system offers excellent protection against corrosion at high temperatures. Rubbery domains have been incorporated into the polymer matrix to inhibit crack propagation and ensure longevity of the Belzona lining during thermal cycling.
