Application Situation
Process kettle at a food production plant.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet VPF-1 for rebuilding erosion-corrosion damage. The surface was prepared by using a hand grinder. Belzona 9111 was used to remove all of the dirt and grease from the surface. A layer of Belzona 1511 was applied to the area and Belzona 9341 was wrapped over the layer. Then, Belzona 1511 was applied once again in accordance with the Belzona Instructions For Use.

The customer chose the Belzona solution since Belzona 1511 is a high temperature repair system that is designed for repairing metal and rebuilding equipment, while providing excellent corrosion protection. Under immersion, Belzona 1511 is suitable for applications up to 160°C (320°F). Belzona 1511 will not corrode and resists a wide range of chemicals. This repair material can be easily mixed and applied without the need for specialist tools and when cured is durable yet fully machinable.
