Application Situation
Production line conveyor belt in a steel foundry.
Application Method
The surface was prepared with a MBX Bristle Blaster for a rough finish and optimum bonding. Belzona 2911 was applied while being careful not to touch it after application. Belzona 2211 was mixed and a short bristle brush was used to scrub the first layer into the roughened rubber. Additional Belzona 2211 was applied to Belzona 9341 and it was applied over the seam. The remainder of Belzona 2211 was applied over the top and smoothed for a clean finish.
Belzona Facts
Replacing the belt would be around $3,000.00 and hot vulcanizing has not been very successful in the past. This Belzona repair used only one unit of material and allows the customer to do their own repairs on their own time, when it is convenient rather than scheduling a repair company.
