Application Situation
A museum located in Bristol city centre had an exhibit which uses 5% Brominated Water.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet TCC-5. The corroded metal structure was blasted back to bare metal using sponge blasting as the client was concerned about the dust created by using regular grit blasting. Areas that were especially corroded and damaged were rebuilt using Belzona 1111. Belzona 5811 was applied with a top coat of Belzona 5111 to protect against oxidation and provide a good colour match.
Belzona Facts
The Belzona application was considerably cheaper and easier than a complete replacement of the support structure. It provided a quick turnaround time that will provide long term corrosion protection.
