Application Situation
Seal faces for cylinder liners of diesel generator. Repairs required whilst ship was in drydock.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet ENC-5. After preparing the damaged areas, carefully profiled formers coated with Belzona 9411 were used to reform Belzona 1111 to the required seal face dimensions. Once cured, the formers were removed and excess Belzona was trimmed away to leave the accurately formed seal faces.   
Belzona Facts
Forming technology provides fast recovery of defects with very good smoothness. Unlike machining methods, it does not require disassembly and removal of the block to a mechanical workshop. The cost of repairs using the molding technology is several times less expensive to alternative machining and requires minimal time to return the equipment to operation.
