Buildings & Structures (BSTR)

Floor Problem Areas (FPA)

Customer Location:

University, Cambridge, UK

Application Date:

February 2016

Application Situation:

A disused basement was being turned into a plant room for their new heating system.

The existing concrete floor had many broken and damaged areas and the steep steps down into the basement were smooth and slippery

Belzona 4111 (Magma-Quartz)

Belzona 4131 (Magma-Screed)

Belzona 5231 (SG Laminate)

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance to Belzona Know-How System Leaflets FPA-1 and FPA-8. Belzona 4111 and 4131 were used to repair and level the damaged concrete areas and then the steps and floor were coated with Belzona 5231.

Belzona Facts:

The College wanted a good quality, long lasting, ant-slip coating for the steps and floor which had chemical resistance but still looked good visually. They are so pleased with this installation that they have since specified Belzona 5231 in a tender for the restoration of another plant room being carried out during Summer 2016.
