Problem: In 2005 the client had used Belzona 4411 on a series of external ramps to avoid slip incidents. As they later found adjacent areas that were undercover were also hazardous, they applied slip resistant adhesive tapes from a leading manufacturer. Unfortunately, the tapes would repeatedly fail and the loss of adhesion at the edges meant that they became trip hazards. These tapes would have to be reapplied every 12-18 months which was costly and disruptive. In the same 6-year period the Belzona materials had suffered only very minor damage, and so the client decided to extend the original application onto the undercover areas.
