Problem: The checker plate panels were landed on a gasket seal. Unfortunately, the seals for several panels had failed and water was penetrating into the asset. A bigger problem was presented by caustic vapours escaping from the joints during certain production phases. With no planned shutdown imminent, the client was urgently seeking a solution that could be rapidly installed. The site had many flammable materials and so only cold works and minimal preparation would be allowed.

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet RPA-1.
Belzona Facts
Belzona 3121 is a liquid applied emergency roofing material that bonds directly to most substrates. This allows for a very quick application and so minimal downtime was required for this work. In addition, the materials are immediately weatherproof. Whilst the application was originally only intended to be a short term solution, it sealed the panels perfectly for over 2 years until the client finally scheduled the replacement of the seals beneath the roof panels.
