Belzona® Renews Expansion Joint At Shopping Centre

Application Situation:

Failed Expansion joint at a Shopping Centre.



The existing joint material had failed resulting in a route for water to leak to the building below and was also creating a trip hazard.



Belzona 4111 (Magma Quartz)

Belzona 2221 (MP Fluid Elastomer)





Application Method:

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflets FPA-5 and FPA-6. The existing joint material was removed and the edges of the joint rebuilt using Belzona 4111. Once this had cured sufficiently, the joint was conditioned using Belzona 2911 (QD Conditioner) before Belzona 2221 was poured to seal the joint.

Belzona materials were chosen for their ease of use, compatibility and performance allowing repairs to be carried out quickly and easily. Belzona provides tough impact joint nosings whilst Belzona 2221 provides a highly elastic long term waterproof seal in the joint.
