Belzona Rebuilds a Damaged Bearing Housing

Problem: Bearing had seized due to the lack of lubrication. This caused it to spin loose and erode away the metal on the bottom of the housing

  2. The worn area was rebuilt with a thin layer of Belzona 1111
  3. A new housing was pressed into place and the Belzona material allowed to set up before the component was reinstalled.

Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet MPT-7. The damaged areas were cleaned using a bristle blaster. Then the repair areas were rebuilt with Belzona 1111. A new housing were inserted into place.

Rebuilding the housing in this manner allowed the plant to use the existing housing and stock bearing, eliminating the need to machine the housing to oversize the procure a new bearing set.
