Application Situation
The mosque was built in 1889 as one of the first mosques in Western Europe and is a Grade II* listed building.  
Application Method
Belzona 1121 (Super XL-Metal) was used to rebuild any through-wall defects on the dome incorporating wire mesh to rebuild and reinforce the damaged areas. Once cured, the areas were re-profiled to the original state. Once damaged areas had been repaired Belzona 3111 system was applied in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet RPA-7 to provide long-term roof protection and waterproofing.
Belzona Facts
The application was completed over the course of 9 days. The client is planning on painting over the Belzona system with Zinsser All Coat Satin to match the green-coloured dome built above the tomb of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and early Muslim leaders, Abu Bakr and Umar. The dome is located in the south-east corner of Al-Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina.
