Problem: The transformer was leaking transformer oil. This was a safety concern as the transformer could overheat. The transformer couldnot be transported from siteas the leaking oil could contaminate the surrounding farmland. A quick solution was required to avoid operational delays.

Application Situation
Wind turbine oil filled transformer due for replacement.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona KnowHow System Leaflet TCC-1. The surface was prepared using power and hand tools before applying the Belzona 1212 to seal the leak. 
Belzona Facts
Belzona were tasked with supplying material over the weekend as for every day the wind farm was out of service the customer was losing in excess of £34,000 due to the wind turbines were in sequence and all turbines had to be switched out to replace faulty transformers. Belzona 1212 surface tolerant material offered a rapid curing solution to allow the transformers to be replaced as planned with minimum down time and maximum protection to the environment.
