Problem: The Customer changed some equipment on their platform which required piping through an existing deck. Without a nearby penetration, the Customer cut large holes for this temporary equipment and later repaired them with bolted panels. The panels and bolts were raised nearly ¾“ above the deck surface creating a trip hazard.

Application Situation
Offshore platform with uneven surfaces and large holes cut through deck.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know How System Leaflet FBC-6 for sealing leaks and Belzona Cold Plate Bonding.
Belzona Facts
Belzona 1121 was chosen to repair the deck and not create a raised repair. Due to the hot sun exposure, the deck was 130F during the repairs which further made Belzona 1121 the best choice for the application.
