Belzona® Cold Plate Bonding Eliminates Trip Hazards On Offshore Deck

Application Situation:

Offshore platform with uneven surfaces and large holes cut through deck.



The Customer changed some equipment on their platform which required piping through an existing deck. Without a nearby penetration, the Customer cut large holes for this temporary equipment and later repaired them with bolted panels. The panels and bolts were raised nearly ¾“ above the deck surface creating a trip hazard.

Application Method:

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know How System Leaflet FBC-6 for sealing leaks and Belzona Cold Plate Bonding.


Belzona Facts:

Belzona 1121 was chosen to repair the deck and not create a raised repair. Due to the hot sun exposure, the deck was 130F during the repairs which further made Belzona 1121 the best choice for the application.
