Problem: The customer had a section of pipe with external corrosion problems and several through wall defects. Traditional cut and replace alternatives would require costly shutoff of the platform. The entire pipe was welded in place and there were no flanged connections to make a spool swap. An engineered solution was required by the regulatory agency that oversees the platform.

Application Method
The repairs were designed in accordance with ASME PCC 2 standard. The application was carried out by factory trained and validated Installers and Supervisors.
Belzona Facts
Six feet of 20” pipe was wrapped together with two feet of 1” pipe, and two feet of 3” pipe. Three Belzona Super Wrap II designs were used to address different defect locations, ranging from three to seven wraps.
