Power (POWR)

Wall Problem Areas (WPA)

Customer Location:

Wind Farm, West Texas, USA

Application Date:

Summer 2016

Application Situation:

Wind Power Tower Base

Rain water and moisture seeps into the ground and into the wind turbine structure through the base around the tower structure. This over time affects the concrete base and propagates cracks and corrosion at the base of the tower. In this case the current coating failed due to UV degredation leading to delamination from the concrete surface.

Belzona Facts:

Belzona 3111 was a great and easy way to seal the base of the structure and the  concrete. The application was simple to do and gave the Customer that extra flexibility in that area. Short of sealing with some type of concrete filler they had few options for this problem.
