Belzona® Protects New Build Flare Stack

Power (POWR)

Tanks and Chemical Containment Areas (TCC)

Customer Location:

Korea / Indonesia

Application Date:

July 2017

Application Situation:

A refurbishment to Cilacap Refinery involved the manufacture and installation of several pieces of equipment. Specification had called for a ceramic epoxy able to withstand high temperatures in which Belzona 1391T was best suited.

Rather than retrospectively maintain broken equipment causing downtime and loss of production, the client decided the best option was to proactively maintain by applying a lining to protect the internal of the flare stack.

Application Method:

Following surface preparation which met the requirements of the Belzona IFU, Belzona 1391T was applied by hand in accordance with TCC-5.

Belzona Facts:

Belzona 1391T was applied to stop corrosion from occurring the the internal of the flare stack in a prone area. The ceramic fillers in the product help to ensure the wear rate from the erosive forces is kept to a minimum. Belzona 1391T has a long overcoating window which cut down the cost and time of having to blast between the first and second coat.
