Problem: Existing expansion joints had failed. The customer then tried to use a cementitious material to repair them but this also cracked and failed.

Application Situation
The customer's Primary Settlement Tank was unable to operate efficiently and the tank's arm was struggling to rotate, which could have caused further damage to the equipment. 
Application Method
The nosings of the joints were rebuilt using Belzona 4111 and Belzona 2211 used as the expansion joint material. The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflets FPA-5 and FPA-7. 
Belzona Facts
The primary settlement tanks' original concrete design failed within four years due to water ingress. Belzona materials are resistant to this type of damage and so will last for many more years to come. This was one of the clients only options to keep the equipment in operation.
